Ohio Theatre

FAQ
Q: What time do I report?
A: Your report time is typically 90 minutes before showtime (there are some exceptions to which you will be notified). All times listed in Galaxy Digital are report times.

Q: Where do I park?
A: Park in the Columbus Commons Underground Garage, 191 S. Third Street, located southbound off 3rd St. Turn right on Damian Place.

Q: Where should I enter the Theatre?
A: Enter through the south doors of the Galbreath Pavilion near the security desk (55 E. State Street). After parking, if you take the stairs to the main level, the entrance will be to your left as you exit the garage. If you take the elevator, you will be in the Capitol Square building. Go slightly left and exit through the revolving door. Entrance will be across the alley, slightly right.

Q: Who do I check in with?
A: Once in the building, continue through the doors on your right into the Galbreath Pavilion to the north end of the building. Enter the doors on your left into the Ohio Theatre lobby. Check in will be with House Manager at the inner lobby doors.

Palace Theatre

FAQ

Q: What time do I report?

A: Your report time is typically 90 minutes before showtime (there are some exceptions to which you will be notified). All times listed in Galaxy Digital are report times.

Q: Where do I park?
A: Park in the Leveque Tower Garage, 40 N. Front St, entering through the FRONT Street Entrance. Bring your ticket with you when at the Palace so it can be validated at check in with a sticker.

Q: Where should I enter the Theatre?
A:
After parking, volunteers should walk down Wall Street until you get to Broad Street. The Palace Theatre entrance (34 E. Broad St) will be on your right. Enter through the FAR-LEFT Doors into the outer lobby and through the CENTER doors into the inner lobby.

Q: Who do I check in with?
A: Check in at the Palace will be with a House Manager at the inner lobby doors to the left.

Davidson Theatre

FAQ

Q: What time do I report?
A: Your report time is 1 hour before showtime (there are some exceptions to which you will be notified). All times listed in Galaxy Digital are report times.

Q: Where do I park?
A: In most cases you may park at the Riffe Center Garage, 77 S. Front Street, just north of State Street. Please note Special Parking requirements:

  • Evenings beginning at 6pm and weekend performances: Park in the Riffe Center garage.
    Note: If you are parking at the Riffe during the aforementioned parameters and see an “X” (no parking signs) at the garage entrance, please ignore! Because this sign is managed manually by Riffe Center security, there may be a delay in displaying the accurate signage.
  • Weekday performances with report time prior to 6pm: Park in the Columbus Commons Underground Garage (as for the Ohio Theatre) and walk to the Riffe.

Q: Where should I enter the Theatre?
A: Entrances to the Riffe can be found on State and High Street. If you are entering the building after 6p, or anytime on the weekends, please use the State Street entrance as the High Street entrance will be closed. Otherwise, you can enter the Riffe at the elevator entrance in the Garage, OR by exiting the garage on Front Street, turning left towards State State Street. Take left on State Street, then another left on High Street. Enter the Riffe through the front doors on High Street (see page 46 in the handbook for more details with pictures).

Q: Who do I check in with?
A: Check in at the Riffe for the Davidson Theatre will be with our House Manager(s) at the Main Theatre Lobby. Volunteer positions are assigned by the House Manager upon check-in at this Theatre. Seating will be explained at the volunteer meeting before each show.

Southern Theatre

FAQ
Q: What time do I report?
A: Your report time is typically 1.5 hours before showtime (there are some exceptions to which you will be notified). All times listed in Galaxy Digital are report times.

Q: Where do I park?
A: Park in the Columbus Commons above ground garage, 55 E. Rich Street, between Main Street and Rich Street. Entrances can be found on both streets. Make sure to take the parking ticket and keep it in a secure place. You will be given a parking chaser upon check-in you will use to exit (similar to the Ohio Theatre).

Q: Where should I enter the Theatre?
A:
After parking, exit the garage through the SOUTH side (Main Street side). Cross Main Street and enter through the glass front doors under the Southern Theatre Marquee.

Q: Who do I check in with?
A: Check in at the Southern Theatre will be with our House Manager(s) in the main floor lobby.

SEATING INFORMATION

Lincoln Theatre

Q: What time do I report?
A: Your report time is typically 1 hour before showtime (there are some exceptions to which you will be notified). All times listed in Galaxy Digital are report times.

Q: Where do I park?
A: Park on the street or in the Broad Street Presbyterian Church parking lot at the corner of Broad St. and Garfield St. If you park in the church lot, park in the area at north end and walk north to Long St. toward the Theatre.

Q: Where should I enter the Theatre?
A: For Lincoln Theatre AND Ballroom events: Follow the sidewalk along Long St. and enter the doors under the marquee facing Long St., entering into the boardroom.

Q: Who do I check in with?
A: Check in at the Lincoln Theatre will be with our House Manager(s) or a LTA Staff Member inside the Boardroom.

McCoy Center

Q: What time do I report?
A: Your report time is typically 1 hour before showtime (there are some exceptions to which you will be notified). All times listed in Galaxy Digital are report times.

Q: Where do I park?
A: Parking is behind the building. You may enter the parking lot off High Street in New Albany (for details see page 56 in the handbook). Please note that parking is not public on school days until 4pm. If working a daytime event during the school year, please park in spots that run parallel directly behind the amphitheater.

Q: Where should I enter the Theatre?
A:
Enter through the back, white doors.

Q: Who do I check in with?
A: Check in at the McCoy Center will be with our House Manager(s) in the main floor lobby.

Hinson Amphitheater

Located adjacent to the McCoy Center

FAQ
Q: What do I wear?
A: Plain, white polo shirt, Khaki shorts, skirt or pants, comfortable shoes or sneakers, and your CAPA name badge. Because the Amphitheater is outside and fully exposed to the sun, sunglasses and hats are encouraged. If you choose to wear a hat, please avoid logos.

Q: What time do I report?

A: Your report time is typically 1 hour to 1.5 hours before showtime. All times listed in Galaxy Digital are report times.

Q: Where do I park?
A: Park in the lot adjacent to the Amphitheater (see map).

Q: Where do I check in?
A: Check in is at the east entrance of the Amphitheater adjacent to the McCoy Center (see map) with House Management Staff .

Water will be available onsite. Ponchos and umbrellas are available to use for inclement weather and must be returned at the end of each shift. Mini flashlights are available to check-out should you forget yours. We encourage you to leave your belongings in your cars as we do not have a dedicated volunteer space currently.

Columbus Commons

FAQ
Q: What do I wear?
A: This an outdoor event, please dress appropriately (smart casual) for the weather and note that this is a rain or shine event. If you choose to wear a hat, please avoid fonts and/or large logos. Comfortable shoes and CAPA Name Badge required. If you have a CAPA t-shirt, you are encouraged to wear it!

You are welcome to bring a chair to station as you will be on your feet for a few hours!

Q: What time do I report?

A: Report time is variable depending on when the gates open. You will be notified prior to the event. Reminder that all times listed on Galaxy Digital are report times.

Q: Where do I park?
A: Please park at the Columbus Underground Garage as you would for the Ohio Theatre! You will be given a chaser ticket to have your parking validated.

Q: Where do I check in?
A: Check is in the Ohio Theatre Pavilion just past the security desk.

Seating Information
Seating, weather and entry will be discussed at the pre-show meeting.

STAR PERFORMACES

Earn select complimentary tickets by working Star Performances.

Volunteers may work to earn two complimentary tickets after working 72 hours of Star Performances. This program is not time bound and can rollover to a new season(s).

Star Performances:
Star Performances are selected at the discretion of the Volunteer Office and will be announced on an as needed basis. Star Performances are typically shows that sell out and/or need more volunteers to staff the event.Complimentary tickets for select CAPA shows are made available to volunteers after working 72 hours of Star Performances. There are some shows for which comps cannot be made available. Once 72 hours have been completed, instructions will follow to claim your complimentary tickets. Complimentary tickets are not to be obtained by you to give to others.

Please understand that we cannot always give the best seats available free of charge under this program; just the best available given the constraints under which we may be operating for any given show. See below for available performance available comps.
